Brooklands revamp nearly complete

The restored finishing straight at Brooklands will be officially re-opened during the venue’s annual Double Twelve Motorsport Festival on June 17/18.

This section of the famous pre-war circuit has been hidden from view since 1940 under a WWII Bellman Hangar, which is being restored and relocated as part of the Brooklands Aircraft Factory and Race Track Revival Project.

The reopening of the straight following restoration will take place on Saturday June 17, 110 years to the day since Brooklands was originally opened. The event will be marked by a reenactment of the original opening parade with veteran cars and demonstrations.
