Marcus Armstrong won the opening race of the New Zealand-based Toyota Racing Series at the Ruapuna circuit last weekend. The Ferrari Developmen­t driver took the lead from Jehan Daruvala with a brave move around the outside at mid- distance. BRDC British F3 racer Thomas Randle inherited the race two win after first-placed Taylor Cockerton was penalised for a jump start. Daruvala won the finale with British F3 Autumn Trophy victor Enaam Ahmed second, but it was consistenc­y from Richard Verschoor that meant the Dutchman left the weekend with the points lead… GT racer Devon Modell will take part in the Asian Le Mans Series finale this weekend at Sepang. The Briton will drive a Eurasia Motorsport Ligier JS P3… Two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup runner-up Carl Edwards has decided to retire from the series. He made his debut in 2004 and claimed 28 victories, finishing second in the standings in 2008 and 2011. The 37-year-old said he made the decision after feeling “personally satisfied” with his career…
