Honda’s latest upgrade has moved it ahead of Renault in the engine pecking order, according to Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost. The Japanese manufacturer introduced its second upgrade of the season in Russia last Friday, but did revert to an older specification for the rest of the weekend. “Honda is making big steps forward,” Tost said. “We had the new spec in the car and it was really fantastic.” Asked if he felt Honda had caught Renault with its upgrade, Tost said: “It is in front of Renault. [The] complete package.”
