The revised running order put the Austin Cooper S of Philip Lilley and John Ellwood at the head of the field throughout and ensured that the Mini had the best possible road conditions for all 55 stage miles. Lilley made the haul up from Cornwall worthwhile by bagging Class B2 spoils.
