Limited entries for WRC3 battlers

-

WRC3 is a relatively pointless championship. Very few drivers set out to compete in it and it’s usually headed by whoever the Junior World Rally champion is that year as the Ford Fiesta R2T used in that series is eligible too; the series is for two-wheel-drive machinery.

The JWRC hasn’t visited WRGB in recent seasons, so current WRC3 leader Emil Bergqvist isn’t in attendance. The highest placed GB entrant is Taisko Lario, fourth in the standings. Enrico Brazzoli joins him in a Peugeot 208 R2, while Louise Cook and Tom Williams steer a pair of Fiestas. Williams is the only JWRC regular competing in WRC3 and has plenty of family history on the event. His Godfather was Richard Burns.

Jean-baptiste Franceschi is in a Fiesta R2T but hasn’t registered for WRC3, while the fastest R2 could well come from one of three crews going for the Prestone Motorsport News Junior British Rally Championship ( see news page 16).
