Fans urged to plan ahead for spectator-friendly Rally GB stages

-

Wales Rally GB director Ben Taylor has urged fans to arrive early for Sunday’s two Llandudno stages on Britain’s round of the World Rally Championship.

Taylor’s event will bring world championship level motorsport to the streets of a British town for the first time this weekend and he wants to make sure everybody gets their slice of the action. Great Orme Llandudno is also the first free stage for spectators in the event’s recent history.

“We’ve put a huge infrastructure into Llandudno for this weekend,” Taylor said, “The response we’ve had from people has been superb. Obviously it’s impossible to judge how many people will come because we’re not selling tickets – but the indications are of a really good crowd, especially if the weather stays.

“One thing I would say is that people shouldn’t just line the streets of Llandudno – once it’s four or five deep it can be tricky to see much – so don’t forget the Great Orme. You might have to pay a fiver to park the car up on the top of the Orme, but the views up there will be absolutely fantastic; you’ll see the cars for a very long way.”
