Hirst aims to round out his first full season of competition with an entry into Welsh event

-

Matthew Hirst will cap off an impressive first full-season in rallying with Wales Rally GB National this weekend.

Hirst narrowly missed out on the BTRDA B13 title after retiring from the Trackrod, with Ian Joel taking the honours.

The Yorkshire driver is hoping his experience in Wales bodes well for the event.

“It is slightly daunting to go down there as the stages are very long but it will be such a great feeling to share the roads with the International cars as well,” said Hirst, who is partnered by Declan Dear.

“I’m a Yorkshire local but I haven’t done that much rallying in Yorkshire, it’s mainly been down in Wales, so hopefully that plays into my favour a bit,” he added.
