A sizeable accident when his throttle jammed open at Paddock Hill in practice meant Ash Sutton was shaken, but he bounced back with 10th in qualifying. A shunt put him out of race one, and he was on fightback which culminated in a stunning victory in the final race, which he snatched on the line by a mere 0.032s.
