Hen­drick Mo­tor­sport’s Chase El­liott took vic­tory in over­time at Dover for his sec­ond NAS­CAR Cup win. El­liott, who moves into the third round of the NAS­CAR Cup play­offs, led in the fi­nal stages and held on in over­time fol­low­ing a red flag with four laps to go… The re­tir­ing Craig Lown­des claimed his sev­enth Bathurst 1000 win in dra­matic cir­cum­stances in Su­per­cars’ premier event. Lown­des and co-driver Steve Richards only took the lead with un­der 30 laps to go af­ter long-time leader David Reynolds suf­fered with leg cramps… For­mula E star Lu­cas di Grassi will make his first pro­to­type start since Audi’s with­drawal from the World En­durance Cham­pi­onship in this month’s IMSA Sportscar Cham­pi­onship Petit Le Mans round. He will join the fac­tory Mazda squad run by Joest Rac­ing, for­merly Audi’s long-time part­ner in its pro­to­type cam­paigns, along­side Oliver Jarvis and Tris­tan Nunez… The G-drive Rac­ing team has lost its ap­peal against dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion from LMP2 vic­tory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. The FIA up­held the de­ci­sion of the stew­ards deem­ing the Tds-run en­tries to have il­le­gally mod­i­fied fuel rigs, en­abling the two cars to re­fuel “sig­nif­i­cantly faster” than their class ri­vals… Toy­ota has agreed to a dou­ble per­for­mance hit for next week­end’s Fuji round of the World En­durance Cham­pi­onship. The two Toy­ota TS050 HY­BRIDS will run at an in­creased min­i­mum weight and will no longer have an ad­van­tage on stint length over the pri­va­teer LMP1 op­po­si­tion at the Ja­panese mar­que’s home race.
