FF1600 ace Foster returns to Britcar in Lotus Exige at Silverstone
Formula Ford stalwart Joey Foster made a one-off return to the Britcar paddock last weekend at Silverstone.
Foster, who is competing in the British Racing and Sports Car Club’s National FF1600 series this year, rejoined Chris Headlam behind the wheel of a Lotus Exige prepared by Orbital Sound.
The meeting marked the first time that Foster has appeared on a Britcar entry list since a similar one-off appearance in 2016.
“We ran the Oulton Park round in 2016 and unfortunately we had a few car issues then,” said Foster.
“The car has been in testing since then, we’ve tried a few different things and we’ve made it more reliable so it was a case of let’s take it out and see how we go.”
With the race one grid order determined by championship position after a qualifying washout, Foster and Headlam climbed from 27th on the grid to finish seventh.
In race two, the team suffered a gearshift problem in the opening laps of the second 50-minute race and ended up several laps down.
Foster and Headlam took a best finish of seventh in race one
