Latvian teenager Martin Sesks has selected the Canaries Rally and Rally of Rome as his two European Rally Championship prize drives.

The 19-year-old, who won two ERC Junior Under 27 rounds on his way to this year’s title, will make his R5 debut in a Motorsport Italiarun Skoda Fabia R5 next season. Sesks will use what the ERC describes as a‘ careerprogression incentive’ as a springboard for an assault on the European series’ next level in 2019.

He said: “I am very happy that winning the FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship gives me this opportunity and proves that hard work pays off. The prize gave me more motivation to step up to an R5 car and we now have the ERC Junior Under 28 Championship to show ourselves in the best way, as we did in ERC Junior Under 27.”

Sesks is a product of the ERC training programme, having graduated two years ago from the ERC Junior Experience.
