Hubert seals GP3 title and targets F2 graduation
Anthoine Hubert has set his sights on stepping up to the Formula 2 Championship in 2019 after taking the GP3 Series title last weekend in Abu Dhabi.
The 22-year-old is in his second season of GP3 with ART Grand Prix, and took a podium at all but one of the nine rounds.
“I think it’s really close to being sure that I will be on the grid next year, there are not many other opportunities in other categories,” he told MN.
“I think I will be there, I’m just not sure what team I will be with.”
MN understands Hubert is favourite to test with Dutch team MP Motorsport.
He sealed the title in the first race , ahead of team-mate Nikita Maze pin and Ferrariaffiliated Call um Ilott.
