Kimi back at Sauber

Kimi Raikkonen returned to the wheel of a Sauber F1 car for the first time in 17 years last week. Ahead of his move to the team for the 2019 season, the Finn tested with Sauber on the first day of the tyre test in Abu Dhabi. It was his first experience of Sauber’s current set-up after he last raced for the team back in 2001. His day ended early with an unspecified technical problem and he was 11th fastest of the 12 drivers to set a time on the opening day. Carlos Sainz Jr was another driver to have a first run with their new team, and he said he has “a lot of information to analyse” after his Mclaren debut.
