INTERNATIONAL RACING DRIVER OF THE YEAR AND BRITISH COMPETITION DRIVER OF THE YEAR
Five-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was one of the most celebrated drivers at the Autosport Awards ceremony as the Mercedes man picked up both the International Racing Driver of the Year accolade and the British Competition Driver of the Year.
It was the sixth time that the Briton, the UK’S most successful grand prix driver of all time, has lifted both gongs.
He was unable to attend the event, but sent a video message to acknowledge his trophies, while the silverware was collected by his racing brother Nic.
Lewis’s message said: “I remember my first time at the Autosport Awards and getting to meet so many great people. I know it is an incredible event that gets bigger every year. I wanted to say thank you to the fans who voted for me – thanks so much for your support over the year. And to all the other nominees and contestants, and winners, congratulations.”
