JOHN BOLSTER AWARD

The John Bolster Award is named after the co-founder and former editor of Autosport, and is given to recognise an exceptiona­l contributi­on to motorsport technology and Toto Wolff, who has overseen Mercedes’s incredible success in F1, was the victor.

His is only the second team to have won five F1 titles in a row – the other was Ferrari under Jean Todt – who was presenting Wolff with the silverware.

Speaking to todt, Wolff said: “it means a lot to receive the award from you – you were an inspiratio­n in your time at Ferrari and you were the first to call and say that it was an honour to be in the five-time winners’ club with you.”
