Monger’s BBC award

BRDC British Formula 3 frontrunner Billy Monger was presented with the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards last weekend (December 16). Named in honour of the first female presenter of BBC’S Grandstand who later died from cancer, the award was given to Monger in recognition of his sensational return to racing despite suffering a double leg amputation following a crash in 2017. He achieved four podiums and a pole position on his return with Carlin this season.
