Maurice Nagle 1951-2018

- David Evans

A conversation about Moll’s Gap is always special. But it was never more special than when it was with Maurice Nagle.

MN is saddened to report Nagle’s passing following a short illness. Well-known and much-loved as both a co-driver and Killarney organiser, Maurice made for the best of company, especially when he was talking about the sport he loved most. But, better than talking about it was doing it, which is just what Maurice did when he drove course car on the Killarney Historic Stages Rally earlier this month.

Not far behind him on the road was his son Paul, co-driving a second course car – albeit slightly quicker – in Craig Breen’s Metro 6R4. Paul’s career as a world championship co-driver was a source of huge pride for Maurice.

MN’S deepest sympathies are extended to his wife Angela, sons Paul and Alan, the rest of his family and many friends in the sport.
