FORMULA FORD FESTIVAL

Writing this, it seems like last year’s Formula Ford Festival has only just finished and it’s a depressing thought that it’s another nine months until the 48th running of the world-famous event.

But it will be worth the wait as it almost never fails to entertain, producing some of the best and closest racing national motorsport has to offer.

Last year’s race was decided on the very last lap as three drivers – Niall Murray, Ollie White and eventual winner Josh Smith – battled for the lead in a terrific scrap. Up to that point the racing had been frenetic as usual in the heats and semi-finals.

As if that October weekend isn’t going to produce enough Formula Ford 1600 action, just a week later there’s the Walter Hayes Trophy on the Silverstone National layout.

Put simply, Autumn can’t come soon enough.
