The 590 has elbowed the 560 off the Prestige flybridge shelf, and what a striking replacement it is. The yard is really in the groove with its latest flybridge offerings and this latest model might be the sweetest looking in the range. The boat’s height is so well disguised yet, apart from feeling more perched on the flybridge than cocooned in it, there are no obvious drawbacks in interior volume.

The cockpit has had a radical update with a clever module that is part seating, part sunpad. Beneath the cockpit there is the option to have a single crew cabin or a tender garage, which could be the more useful option on what is most likely to be an owner-run boat.

The saloon is familiar Prestige with light, modern décor, an aft galley that opens to the cockpit and separate access to an impressive full-beam master, but it’s encouraging to see fewer hard corners on the cabinets replaced by smooth, rounded edges.

The two guest cabins are forward on the lower deck, one being the VIP ensuite with scissor-action berths and the other a twin, separated from the bathroom by the lobby.

Like the model it replaces, the 590 uses Cummins Zeus pods mated to a pair of 600hp motors, which should mean a top speed in the region of 30 knots. Not blistering by any means, but good enough for a comfortable cruising speed of 23-25 knots.
