With its first boat, the 43, Pardo quietly produced a true sales success, which captured the imagination of buyers thanks to its slick styling, quality fit out and effortless performance. Building on that success the all-new 50 made its premiere at Cannes, promising to deliver all that is so good about the 43 on a bigger scale.
If you’re looking for a boat to enjoy in the sun then the 50’s wonderfully open deck spaces will tug at your heartstrings. Whether it’s space to dine al fresco or purely to lap up the rays on one of two vast sunpads, this thing comes into its own when swinging off the hook in some sun-drenched anchorage. Despite its openness the boat feels very safe to move around on; the sidedecks are deep without steps to negotiate, there are handholds all over the place and there’s space beneath the sunpad for a tender.
What’s most enticing is that despite the day boat intentions the sleeping spaces are practical and surprisingly spacious – you even get two bathrooms to supplement the twin amidships and open-plan double forward. There’s even a third cabin with a loo that is accessed via a hatch on the main deck, though it will most likely be used for storage.
There is the option to have IPS 600, 700 or 800, and if it goes as well as it looks then Pardo will almost certainly have another winner on its hands.
