The prize for the most striking front end of any new boat at the show goes to this bold new weekender from Spanish shipyard Astondoa.

With a reverse-angled top half matched to a convention­al lower half, the bow looks like a particular­ly aggressive parrot’s beak. It may not be to everyone’s taste but we rather like it and it certainly suits the boat’s distinctiv­e side profile with its sculpted surfacing and sharply kinked sheerline.

Deep walkaround decks protected by tall bulwarks means there’s no need for any bow rails to disrupt those clean lines, while still giving safe, easy access to the foredeck sunpads and anchor locker.

The three heavily bolstered helm seats are tucked behind a frameless smoked windscreen with a T-top overhead providing useful shade and protection from the elements. Being a day boat there’s only a cockpit wet bar rather than a proper galley to serve your guests.
