5 NEW BOSSES FOR SUNSEEKER & FAIRLINE

-

It’s all change at the top for two of the United Kingdom’s biggest motor boat builders after their current bosses stepped down in the autumn. Christian Marti will replace Phil Popham as the CEO of Sunseeker International, while David Tydeman is taking over the reigns at Fairline Yachts from former managing director Russell Currie.

Phil Popham, who headed up the company from January 2015, stepped down in September to join Lotus Sports Cars. Coincidentally, the incoming Marti has also come from the automotive world, having previously held the position of chief sales officer and vice-president of Aston Martin Lagonda. Marti has also worked for Jaguar Land Rover and Mclaren Automotive.

David Tydeman, by contrast, is already a well known figure in the marine industry with extensive boating experience, most recently as CEO of Oyster Yachts but also as managing director of Beneteau UK among other roles. Meanwhile, Russell Currie, who helped rebuild Fairline Yachts after it was bought out of administration by two Russian businessman in 2015, is going back to run his Fairline dealership in Mallorca.
