Much like Ocean Alexander (see p50) custom yacht builder Gulf Craft will launch an outboardpowered day boat in what is a departure for the Emirate shipyard.

The Oryx range is a peculiar one but this boat taps in to what a lot of customers are looking for at the moment – decent outboard power, an inviting and open main deck and a nod to

weekending below decks.

The 379’s walkaround decks flank a cockpit with a balance of sunbathing and dining space, sheltered by a substantial T-top. Below, where the Oryx differs to some rivals, it has both an open plan convertible berth in the bow but there is also a separate double cabin amidships and a separate bathroom.
