STANDARD HORIZON GX1800GPS/E AND GX1850GPS/E

These latest radios from Standard Horizon combine the kind of full features and reasonable prices we’ve come to expect from the company. Based on the preceding GX1700E, both radios share a similar chassis and feature an ultra-thin and compact rear case typical of the Explorer series, making them easy to flush fit into a dashboard, but with a bracket mount also available. A redesigned front panel aids operation and a new selectable night-mode display allows the level of illumination to be changed to a soft muted white with the text in large black letters. They also both work with Standard Horizon’s latest RAM4 second station microphone, from which the set can also be controlled. The difference between the two is that the 1800 (above) supports the still widely used NMEA 0183 protocol, while the 1850 utilises the newer and faster NMEA 2000 protocol.
