Few boats will have had as interesting a route to make it to this year’s Cannes show as the Nomad 75 SUV. The boat at the show launched in Dubai and then travelled through the Strait of Hormuz (carefully, no doubt), around the coast of Oman, through the Red Sea and Suez Canal and on to Cyprus before heading west.

This is a fine demonstration of the boat’s long-distance credentials and its flexibility as

a cruising companion. With the largest twin 1,500hp engines it will achieve a top speed of 27 knots but slow to 8 knots and the 7,800-litre fuel capacity gives a range of 2,500 miles.

The 75 is available as a more traditional flybridge but this SUV version with the pilothouse deck gives a real superyacht vibe. This skylounge will likely be the heart of the boat seeing as it is linked to the wheelhouse and then splits the remaining space between a plush climate-controlled saloon and a sizeable sun deck. The unbroken deck leads forward either side of the pilothouse to yet more sunbathing space on the foredeck.

It also leaves space on the main deck below for a spectacular master suite that takes full advantage of the panoramic wrap of glass at the forward end. There are three guest cabins on the lower deck — one a particularly generous double ensuite and a pair of twins — and space aft for a well-proportioned crew mess and tender garage.
