ACTISENSE W2K-1
Advanced Yacht Systems has launched a watermaker called the Dessalator Navigator. According to Advanced Yacht Systems, the purest water, the highest outputs and the greatest reliability comes from constant flow high pressure watermakers. Up until now, these have all required a small amount of user input to adjust pressure. In contrast, the Navigator is a fully automatic ‘one-touch’ high pressure watermaker range, able to work with network control systems such as Sheiber, used by Beneteau. The space saving pump-motor assembly has an even smaller footprint than standard Dessalator models for ease of installation.

The new W2K-1 by Actisense is an NMEA 2000 Wi-fi Gateway which transfers data from an NMEA 2000 backbone to any device (e.g. laptop, tablet or smartphone) connected to it via Wi-fi, making it ‘the first Wi-fi gateway of its kind with the ability to both translate and record navigational and engine data’, according to the manufacturer. Packaged in an extremely rugged IP67 case, it also offers built-in conversion of NMEA 2000 messages into NMEA
0183 sentences, enabling a wide variety of vessel data (position, speed, course, wind speed, depth, engine data, AIS messages etc.) to be shared with NMEA 0183 compatible software applications running on connected devices. It allows users to automatically generate logbooks, analyse race data, diagnose problems or share voyage details.
