5 NUMARINE’S POCKET-EXPLORER

-

Numarine has unveiled renderings of its new 72ft ‘baby explorer’, the 22XP. Sporting the same DNA as the other XPS – a chunky profile, near vertical prow and forward-slanting bridge windows – it promises ‘extraordinary classleading volumes for her overall length’, according to Numarine sales and marketing manager, Ali Tanir.

With the standard twin 425hp Cummins diesels, the all-composite 22XP should top out at around 12.5 knots and provide a substantial range of 2,000nm at a chug-all-day eight knots. However, semidisplacement performance or hybrid options will also be available.

The lower deck comprises four ensuite cabins, a VIP double forward with its own staircase to starboard of the bridge console, a full-beam owner’s cabin amidships and a transverse double and conventional twin guest cabin all accessed from another staircase in the main saloon.

The 22XP is expected to make its debut at the 2021 Cannes Boat Show.
