7 VELAR 70 CONCEPT

-

Italian designer Valerio Rivellini’s new Velar 70 motor yacht concept takes its inspiration from the world of sailing.

Designed for semi-displacement cruising and majoring on efficiency and fuel economy, the ultra-lightweight Velar 70 uses a pair of Volvo Penta IPS650S to give a cruising speed of 16 knots.

Like many larger sailing yachts, the design has two outside helm stations mounted on either side of the aft cockpit for better visibility past the deck saloon. There is also a centrally mounted internal helm position at the head of the saloon.

Most of the main deck’s side windows also drop down to create the feeling of a big open cockpit but with the added protection of a hardtop overhead. The standard interior sleeps eight in four cabins – a VIP cabin forward, two doubles amidships and an owner’s suite aft with private access to a stern terrace.
