10 AICON RETURNS

Sicilian motoryacht builder Aicon is being relaunched. American investment is behind the new ‘boutique yacht’ venture, which plans to launch a number of new models from 50-85ft over the next few years.

The first new Aicon 66 is already under construction. It offers a three-cabin layout, plus room for two crew aft. Twin 1,200hp MANS on straight shafts promise strong performance.

From the late ’90s through to early 2010, Aicon grew to become a prominent motoryacht brand before being forced to shut down at the height of the global financial crisis. There are said to be around 500 Aicons still in use around the world. The biggest was the old 85 Fly.
