Tipping the scales at 126 tonnes and measuring nearly 108ft in length, the FD102 propels Horizon’s fast displacement range from the world of semi-custom yachts to fully fledged superyacht status. This, until the FD125 arrives at least, is the current flagship of the range and will be exhibited at the Cannes Boat Show in September.
The 102 stays true to a range that runs down to the 75ft FD75, with every model boasting extraordinary volume for its size and impressive long-range efficiency thanks to its hybrid hull form and wavepiercing bow design.
The 102 has accommodation for eight guests across a four-stateroom configuration on the lower deck with a main deck master suite providing a private and opulent retreat for the owner with elevated views of the yacht’s surroundings.
The crew area with berths for six is separated from the guest accommodation by the engineroom, where you will find a pair of 1,600hp Caterpillar diesels good for 16.5 knots flat out and a range of 3,000nm at eight knots.
Guests are spoiled for choice when it comes to living areas, having to decide between the sprawling cockpit with televisions mounted in the overhang, a raised sun deck that connects to the cosy sky lounge or the foredeck, which boasts sunbathing space, a private dinette and hot tub.
Amazingly, Horizon managed to build the first 102 in just 12 months yet, despite this efficiency of construction, is still open to customisation requests from customers who want to make a personal mark on the yacht.
