Welcome...
One of this magazine’s great strengths is that we appeal to a broad church of people. Whether you’re one of our more experienced readers, who enjoys cruising the inland waterways of Europe in a displacement steel cruiser, or a young gun blasting around the Solent in a 50-KNOT RIB, we try to make sure there is enough variety in every issue to keep you all entertained. So for those who are already well into their boating careers, forgive me for dedicating 11 pages of this issue on how to get started. If there’s one thing we’ve got to thank this pandemic for it’s a rise in the number of people wanting to get afloat, even if that can be rather a daunting prospect for newcomers. The first of our features is designed to allay those fears by taking you through the process of HOW TO GET STARTED, while the second is a great example of someone who has just done it. If you are one of these new readers looking to get into boats, welcome aboard, you’ve come to the right place! If, however, you’re an old hand at this game, turn to p67 and feast your eyes on the tastiest selection of new motoryachts, tests and stories we’ve ever featured in our regular CUSTOM YACHTING supplement. Like I said, there really is something for everyone.
DON’T MISS OUT!
One of our readers rang me the other day to make a genuine complaint. He said he enjoyed everything about the magazine except one thing – it wasn’t long enough. Despite eking out the pleasure of reading it for as long as he can, he always finishes each issue two weeks after it arrives, leaving him another two weeks to kill before the next issue lands. Obviously, I passed his comments on to my publisher demanding more pages but in the meantime why not fill the empty weeks by catching up on all the extra content and videos online at mby.com or subscribing to our free Youtube channel at Youtube.com/
