CMAC AND IRIS CONTROL CAMERA AND ALARM MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Uk-based marine camera specialist Iris Innovations has launched a new device called CMAC, which it claims to be “the industry’s first ever, fully integrated command and control system for boat cameras and alarms”. It’s accompanied by Iriscontrol, a HTML5 application to run on Onehelmtm, a third-party app platform by Garmin.

It’s compatible with Analogue, IP and Analogue HD cameras and interfaces with boat security alarms, combining all the main elements of a fully featured security and control system into a single enclosure, complete with high-end waterproof connectors.

The system features digital video recording, alarm management, network and serial data-management in a removable, shock-proof hard drive caddy as well as hosting the Iriscontrol App.

The App allows users to upload their own deck plans and photos and then configure them with icons to represent the position of cameras, alarms and preset ‘hotspots’ which, when selected, send cameras automatically to favourite pre-configured positions at the touch of a button.

Iriscontrol then allows the entire system to be run through a Garmin MFD, displaying both the camera image and the control interface, eliminating the need for additional controls, joysticks or screens at the helm. It even supports p-to-p access, allowing you to view and control the system whilst away from your boat.
