HONDA HONWAVE
Honda has revamped its Honwave range of inflatable boats for 2021, starting with a new colour scheme that combines swathes of deep blue with flashes of red.
On a more practical level, changes include loop handles replacing the previous hogging and rope on top of the tubes. This provides a cleaner, flatter profile while also reducing the risk of damage caused by people incorrectly using the rope to lift the boat.
The oars have also been moved from their stored position on top of the tubes to inboard, making the boat tubes more comfortable to sit on, and a bow roller has become standard fit across the range to prevent rope-scuff.
The new lift-type drain valve prevents incorrect fitment when securing it back in place and also stops occupants from accidentally dislodging it and flooding the Honwave while under way. And the removal of tabs at the rear of air V-floor models reduces wake without compromising performance, says the manufacturer.
As before, there are three deck types to choose from. Slatted floorboards give you the lightest and most compact boat when deflated. Air V-floor creates a deep vee-style hull for improved ride and comfort, or you can opt for a rigid aluminium one for better performance and ruggedness.
Each boat is constructed from high-grade PVC with GRP transoms, and the range consists of ten boats measuring from 2m to 4m long, with a maximum passenger capacity of seven people on the biggest model.
All boats can be paired with Honda outboard engines from 2.3 to 20hp (depending on boat size) as a package price.
