Big picture Why Jack Miller was high and dry
Miller left high and dry
In a race that was more farce than tragedy, the sad sight of a lone Jack Miller sitting on his Ducati as the rest of the field scrambled back to their pits was something to behold. After a storming qualifying, Miller stuck to his guns and opted for slicks while everyone else went with wets. After a sighting lap the riders panicked and changed rubber, while the officials panicked and changed the rules. Miller fumed in vain for over 15 minutes as the organisation got their act together, ultimately awarding him a 50m head start of one of the maddest GP races in recent history. See p74.
