Iannone can’t ‘do a Marquez’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Motogp -

Alex Rins may have been able to come home a strong second in Sunday’s race, but it was a less successful outing for team-mate Andrea Iannone who failed to complete the opening lap. After struggling to find race pace all weekend, the Italian was caught out by one of Marc Marquez’s saves at the final corner.

Running close behind the world champion as he tucked the front and then saved it on his elbow through the adversecamber corner, Iannone was unsighted by the wobble right in front of him, briefly losing concentration. Tucking the front himself, he was unable to repeat Marquez’s stunt and crashed out. He was then unable to restart the bike.
