It’s hard to spot the difference between the CBR500R and its bigger 650 sibling, but it was the 500 that got the look first, and it gets a little sharper for 2019. The changes are all beneath the skin, with a 4% boost to power and torque at 3000-7000rpm, giving you more mumbo right where you want it. This has been achieved with revisions in the inlet and exhaust valve timing thanks to closer timing and an increased lift and improved gas flow. There’s also LED lighting all round and a new LCD dash that’s shared with the CB650 family.
