Racing successes highlighted by Stanley Woods’ double TT victory
1953
Mandello factory is expanded and world’s first bike wind tunnel is built – which survives to this day
1967
SEIMM, a state-controlled receiver, takes over after sales collapse as buyers switch to cars
1973
SEIMM is bought by De Tomaso (who also owns Benelli). T3 and Le Mans follow
2000
Decades of decline result in just 6000 bikes being built in 1999. Takeover by Aprilia is announced
2004
Aprilia collapses and is bought, along with Moto Guzzi, by Piaggio Group
2021
All-new factory and V100 model announced. Guzzi currently makes around 10,000 bikes a year
