DON’T JUST SHOOT THE MOTORCYCLES

This might seem like a strange thing to say, but the thing that makes the TT unique is The Mountain Course.

It provides a beautiful backdrop for all of our action pictures. If you just do a close up of the bike then the

picture could have been taken at Silverstone or Donington (perish the thought!). You want to show that it’s a road race, so keep the ‘furniture’ – the trees and lampposts, walls and hedges – in your frame too. Sometimes when I am shooting I have the scene all worked out and then it’s simply a case of waiting for the bike

to appear.
