BUY THE BEST GEAR THAT YOU CAN AFFORD
It isn’t the camera that takes the picture, it’s the photographer, and the best camera in the world will not get you a good picture if you can’t ‘see’ the picture before you hit the shutter button. But a
decent camera and a couple of good lenses will make a big difference to the pictures that you take. I went on a photography workshop years ago and the seasoned pro who was running the course pointed out that while you could take a good picture with any type of camera, all the best photographers used the best of gear. I never forgot that. This isn’t the pace to get into the ‘which camera make is best’ debate, but you should remember that the lens is at least as important as the camera – if not more so. A good wide-angle zoom – I use a 17mm-35mm – and a reasonable telephoto lens – 200mm-300mm will give you a
