Zerofit Heatrub Ultimate socks

Given the current time of year, you may find that you have plenty of socks, but I’d suggest that, for motorcycling use, these Zerofit feet-huggers are rather more appropriate than the comedy ‘Yuel-toed’ socks that you found under the tree…

Designed in Japan, the Zerofit products cover pretty much every inch of your body, but my feet are the one thing that I struggle keeping warm. The socks have the same ‘Heatrub’ construction as their other garments, with the ‘heat threads’ within the material rubbing together with movement and thus generating heat. During development the material was tested as being up to five times as warm as conventional base layers, and twice as warm as regular woollen products.

The soles have little rubber studs that, aside from stopping you from slipping across the kitchen floor, aid in keeping the socks in place in your boots, so you remain comfortable and the socks stay where they’re meant to. And, as you can probably see from the pic here, the kitchen floor is now devoid of dog hairs ....

The socks are quite thick, so you may have to slacken off the laces/fittings on your boots, but they’re still wonderfully soft and light – when not wearing boots it’s close to feeling like not wearing socks at all. And, given that my feet were actually the one thing that didn’t get cold on one particular frosty December ride, I’d say that they work pretty well. I’ve now dedicated them solely to use on the bike, tucked into my bike boots to be ready for use rather than be worn each and every day when I work from home, keeping the heating bill down (and collecting dog hairs).
