WRC legend Blomqvist makes Mini return

Stig Blomqvist, the 1984 World Rally champion, returned to the Mini Festival at Brands for the first time since 2014 last weekend.

Blomqvist shared a Morris Cooper S with Hans-ake Soderqvist and Daniel Frodin in both the SU Euro Challenge and Sanwa Endurance events. His best finish was sixth in the first SU Euro Challenge.

“I just came from the Midnight Sun Rally in Sweden, where I drove a Ford Falcon, so the Minis are a different challenge for me,” said Blomqvist. “The competition here is amazing, all the guys are really quick.”
