Dolby and Enge to crew Wessex Lamborghini

-

New sportscar squad Wessex Motorsport will make its International GT Open debut this weekend with Craig Dolby and Thomas Enge handling its Lamborghini Gallardo.

Wessex, which is run by GT Cup and Britcar regular Nigel Mustill, has entered its Gallardo REX into this weekend’s round on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

Mustill has raced a variety of sports prototypes from Aquila and Riley across recent seasons, but this will be only his second event with the new Wessex team.

“We’ve entered the GT Open to show what the Gallardo can do and to also give Craig [Dolby, Mustill’s long-term co-driver] a shot at something on a decent stage,” said Mustill.

“Thomas is factory driver for Reiter Engineering, which builds the REX version of the Gallardo, so the deal fell in place with a little help from Reiter. Both Thomas and Craig are great drivers, so we’re going in looking for the win.”

The British round of the GT Open has also attracted entries from FF Corse, which will run Jamie Stanley and Paul Mcneilly in the new Ferrari488 GT3, which took a podium finish in British GT at the same track last month.
