FF1600 focus group established
Organisers of the National Formula Ford 1600 Championship will form a new focus group aimed at safeguarding the future of the formula.
The new six-member group will be charged with brainstorming various aspects of the championship going forward, covering everything from parts supply and longevity to technical regulations suggestions, promotion and fixture planning.
Six members will be elected from applications to form the new committee. The six posts up for tender are: chairperson or secretary, marketing representative, Pre ’90 drivers’ representative, Post ’89 drivers’ representative, teams’ representative and technical representative. All elected members will serve until the end of the 2017 season.
National FF1600 coordinator Ian Smith said: “We’ve had a similar working group on a smaller scale in just the Northern Championship previously and this is about giving the wider FF1600 community a voice.
“The focus group will meet regularly and put suggestions to the BRSCC and other competitors about ways to improve and better the championship.”
