Chris West is close to an Ulster deal as Vauxhall put an entry in

Chris West is hoping to put together a deal to compete in the Ulster Rally in the vacant Vauxhall Junior British Rally Team’s Adam R2.

West – who won this year’s Brands Hatch Stages in his Peugeot 306 Maxi – is looking to benchmark himself against the current BRC Juniors, including would-be team-mates Rob Duggan and Mattias Adielsson.

“Obviously I’m not entering the BRC championship for the juniors because I’m only doing one round,” said West. “But if I can go there and beat them or be in the top three I’ll be very happy. It’s a case of hopefully getting used to the car and hopefully next year I’ll be able to do it [the BRC Juniors].
