German gathering for Group B icons

What is believed to be the biggest ever gathering of Group B rally cars will mark this weekend’s ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival.

The event, based in the town of Daun from Thursday to Saturday, will have a total of 64 Gp B and Gp S cars in action.

At the height of Gp B, 63 such cars entered the 1000 Lakes Rally in 1983. Five Lancia Delta S4s, five Peugeot 205T16s and four Audi quattro E2s pack out the entry. Meanwhile 21 Ford Escorts make up part of the entry of over 150 cars as the events celebrates six decades of rallying history.
