Scottish championship launches prizes

The Scottish Rally Championship has announced a host of prizes for its competitors in 2017, including the new Star Driver Award and two free entries to Wales Rally GB.

The Star Driver Award will be decided by a panel of SRC officials and invited judges. On each round the panel will choose a driver to go into the end of season shootout contest.

There, they will be joined by the overall SRC champion, the SRC Challengers champion, the SRC 2WD champion and the SRC Junior champion. The winner will receive a fully funded entry into a yet-to- be-decided European event. MN understands that the Condroz Rally is the most likely prize.

The winner will have their entry fee, travel and accommodation paid for the event, as well as contributions made to fuel and tyre costs from championship partners.

Also on offer, the overall SRC champion and Junior champion will receive a funded entry into Wales Rally GB in the National category, as part of the Road to Wales scheme, which funds a number of drivers from different series with an entry into the international event.
