Hendrick Motorsport’s Chase Elliott took victory in overtime at Dover for his second NASCAR Cup win. Elliott, who moves into the third round of the NASCAR Cup playoffs, led in the final stages and held on in overtime following a red flag with four laps to go… The retiring Craig Lowndes claimed his seventh Bathurst 1000 win in dramatic circumstan­ces in Supercars’ premier event. Lowndes and co-driver Steve Richards only took the lead with under 30 laps to go after long-time leader David Reynolds suffered with leg cramps… Formula E star Lucas di Grassi will make his first prototype start since Audi’s withdrawal from the World Endurance Championsh­ip in this month’s IMSA Sportscar Championsh­ip Petit Le Mans round. He will join the factory Mazda squad run by Joest Racing, formerly Audi’s long-time partner in its prototype campaigns, alongside Oliver Jarvis and Tristan Nunez… The G-drive Racing team has lost its appeal against disqualifi­cation from LMP2 victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. The FIA upheld the decision of the stewards deeming the Tds-run entries to have illegally modified fuel rigs, enabling the two cars to refuel “significan­tly faster” than their class rivals… Toyota has agreed to a double performanc­e hit for next weekend’s Fuji round of the World Endurance Championsh­ip. The two Toyota TS050 HYBRIDS will run at an increased minimum weight and will no longer have an advantage on stint length over the privateer LMP1 opposition at the Japanese marque’s home race.
