Organiser: Forresters CC When: September 30 Where: Caerwent Training Area Championships: CMSG; ASWMC; Junior F1000 Rally Challenge; FMP Rally Challenge; AWMMC Heart of England Stage Rally Championship Stages: 6 Starters: 100 There was no stopping Dave Willett/john Davies who took a dominant win on the Patriot Stages.
Driving their recently rebuilt Ford Escort Mk2, the pair were fastest on every stage, ending the day with a winning margin of over two minutes.
An early spin cost Damian Cole/steve Durbin some time, and when their Escort suffered gearbox paddleshift issues later on, they weren’t able to challenge Willett.
Quick times on the final two stages enabled Thomas Cooper to overtake his grandfather Phil Turner for the final podium position in his Mitsubishi Lancer E9, as Mark Jasper/don Whyatt dropped out of the top three with fuel problems in their Escort.
In the Junior F1000 event, Elliot Payne/dom Adams were also clear winners, taking the category by over two minutes in their Citroen C1.
