REVISED THREE-ROUND CALENDAR FOR BHRC

-

British Historic Rally Championship organisers are planning to run three events in the latter part of the year, subject to rallying being able to restart.

The three rounds are due to be the Trackrod Historic Cup (September 25-26), Carlisle Stages (October 24) and Rally North Wales (November 21).

All the rounds up to the end of August this year have now been cancelled but it is hoped that the championship will begin in September.

Championship manager Colin Heppenstall said: “The organisers of the Trackrod Rally and Carlisle Stages had all the route surveys undertaken before the lockdown so all the organisation is well in hand for both events.

“The current plan [for Carlisle] is to run five stages offering 45 miles of single usage based out of Kielder village, with stages both in England and Scotland,” Heppenstall added. “There is a possibility that large sporting gatherings may not be allowed in Scotland until next year: if this does happen then the event’s stages will be solely in England.”
