Max’s woe revealed

Red Bull’s advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that Bahrain Grand Prix runnerup Max Verstappen was losing 0.3s per lap in the early stages with a differential problem and then the team had to restrict the power to the Honda engine in the closing stages due to overheating. “We were handicapped in the first stages,” said Marko.

“Then we had to turn the engine down.” Verstappen finished 0.7s behind winner Lewis Hamilton.
